Dr. Kathleen Casacci opened Wheatfield Family Dentistry in 1994. She is a WNY native and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School in her junior year. She attended Mount Saint Mary’s Hospital’s Radiologic Technology program for 2 years and was ranked #1 in the class. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1993. She graduated with Cum Laude Latin Honors in the top 5% of her class, with a class rank of 2/81.

Dr. Casacci completed Straight-Wire Orthodontics training with the American Association of Orthodontists in 2002. She graduated in 2009 with Level 4 Bioesthetic Dentistry training. There are less than 300 Dentists world-wide with this training. Bioesthetic Dentists utilize the principals of esthetic tooth form, stable temporomandibular joints, and precise occlusion (bite) to provide relief of painful grinding and headaches to produce lasting, beautiful, and comfortable smiles. She did a Pediatric and Prosthodontics minor and completed both Special Needs Dentistry and Oral Surgery externships while in school. She also attended a post graduate Master’s degree program at SUNY Buffalo in Oral Sciences and Pain Management. She has completed a mini residency and maxi-course on Dental Implants, and was a clinical instructor in Restorative Dentistry at SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine from 1993-1996. She is NYS licensed for IV sedation through Duquesne University School of Pharmacy. In October of 2013, she received her Associate Fellowship credentials in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Casacci has also received training in Botox and dermal fillers. To date she has completed over 4,000 hours of quality post-graduate continuing education.

Dr. Casacci was awarded the prestigious FAGD award in August of 2001 and Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) in June of 2012. Less than 2% of the Dentists in the country have attained this level of distinction.

Dr. Casacci was awarded the Board Certification and Diplomate credentials with the American Board of Oral Implantology in 2021. This board certification process has taken her 10 years to complete. She had to provide 10 advanced implant cases for review and defense, and a rigorous 6 hour written examination on implant dentistry, complications, and advanced techniques as well as an oral 4 hour examination to be granted this highly recognized award. She is the first and only woman to receive this award in New York State. She is the only Board Certified Implant Dentist in Western New York.

The ABOI/ID Diplomate designation symbolizes the highest level of competence in implant dentistry. Certification by the ABOI/ID attests to the fact that a dentist has demonstrated knowledge, ability, and proficiency in implant dentistry through a rigorous examination process. Dentists must demonstrate in-depth knowledge, and proficient skills and abilities in both the surgical and restorative aspects of implant dentistry as well as in critical aftercare even if they perform only the surgical or restorative phase.

Outside of work, Dr. Casacci enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and dogs.
